L-Glutamine is an important fuel and nitrogen source for intestinal cells and plays a key role in maintaining integrity of the intestinal mucosa and gut barrier function.
TegricelTM is an immunoglobulin-rich extract of colostrum, the biological fluid produced by female mammals after giving birth. Colostrum provides immediate passive immune protection to a newborn. Tegricel was developed to provide key bioactive immune compounds including immunoglobulins (40% IgG), proline-rich peptides, insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), transforming growth factor (TGF)-B2, sialic acid, and nucleotides. In laboratory settings, healing of damaged gastrointestinal epithelial cells was improved in the presence of Tegricel. It has also been shown to reduce the damage associated with NSAID ulceration in animal models. Patients treated with Tegricel also noticed a reduction in allergic symptoms and health complaints after consumption of Tegricel.
Digestive enzymes encourage the breakdown of macronutrients.
